The Fairfield Bay Animal Shelter is a 501(c)3 non-profit, primarily volunteer organization established in 1994 by The Fairfield Bay Animal Protection League. The Fairfield Bay Animal Shelter provides shelter, care, resource, and adoption services for the many domestic cats and dogs that stray, become lost, or are abandoned each year in our area. The Fairfield Bay Animal Shelter maintains a no-kill policy. All fostered animals are cared for until such time as a suitable adoption is arranged. The Fairfield Bay Animal Shelter also has a focus on animals with special needs. The Fairfield Bay Animal Protection League is active in promoting humane education and enforcement of animal cruelty laws. The city promotes a spay and neuter program for Fairfield Bay pet owners that we support. We depend heavily on donations for our shelter, medical and long-term care expenses.

Our mission is to provide a non-profit, humane, no-kill shelter for dogs and cats who are homeless, abused and/or unwanted in the Fairfield Bay, Arkansas area.

  • To provide warm, nurturing surroundings for animals at the shelter and to seek loving, compatible homes for those in our care.
  • To provide medical care to dogs and cats at the shelter and to ensure that all of our animals are spayed or neutered.
  • To set up a system of foster homes for dogs and cats and raise awareness of animal welfare issues and the prevention of cruelty to animals by playing an educational role in the community.

If you are looking to provide a forever home for a loving friend and companion, please consider one of the many cats and dogs listed at The Fairfield Bay Animal Shelter. If you are interested in helping and supporting The Fairfield Bay Animal Shelter's efforts please

AR License Plate Supports Animal Rescue

Show off your support for animal rescue while promoting Arkansas animal shelters the next time you need to renew your tags.

There are two styles to choose from: "Support Animal Rescue & Shelters" or "Spay and Neuter". The cost is the same as the cost for registering special plates ($35.00) in addition to your license fee and a portion of the money is disbursed among needy animal shelters across the state.

If you don't want to wait till it's time to renew your tags, you can still go to your local DF&A office to get a new plate for $35. Keep in mind your tag expiration date will not change.
